Lessons in Success from an 8 Year Old Boy

Sophia & I recently bought Lego Batman for our 8 year old son to play on his Nintendo Wii.

After he tore open the box and popped it into the machine, I sat down to watch him play.

At first he just moved his little character around the screen all over the place to get a feel for it, but then I noticed that he began racking
up some points as he completed small tasks.

While he was on Level 1 and couldn’t figure out how to get through a trap door, I left him alone to figure it out and keep playing.

An hour later, I came back to see how he was doing.

He was on level 5!

When I left him, he was struggling at Level 1. He didn’t know what to do and so he started out real slow.

So I asked him, “How do you know what to do?”

He said, “Because I haven’t stopped playing yet.”

I then asked, “How did you get this far?”

His response, “I just did it and figured it out along the way.”

Enough said.
